Fall 850 Coaching Staff:

Luke Kendall
(High School)
Attack
Coach Luke played lacrosse at Florida State University where he was a starting attackman. Before FSU he played at Martin County High School under coach VanTassel for 4 years. When asked about Luke, coach VanTassel said, “Luke is a lefty, and we all like lefties”. Currently, he is the head lacrosse coach at Leon High School.

Alex Houk
(High School)
FOGO/Midfield
Coach Houk is from Vero Beach Florida where he played Lacrosse at Saint Edwards School under coach VanTassel. From there he went on to be a FOGO at D1 Jacksonville University. After a short stint at JU he transferred to Florida State where is studying Pre-Law and playing for the FSU club lacrosse team. Currently he is coaching FOGO’s and Middies at Maclay, and his expertise at the face-off “X” has helped Maclay become a state power. Coach Houk played for many national level clubs while in high school as well, such as Sweetlax, the Dukes, and Swashbucklers.

Kyle Lesko

Coach Kyle Lesko is from Orlando and went to Lake Brantley high school. After high school he attended North Greenville University for a year where I played as a defensive midfielder. While at NGU he also took face-offs and played on the wings, making him an all around middie. Currently, he attends Florida State University where he is a junior defensive midfielder for the club team. At FSU, coach Lesko is a global club management and leadership major. With his degree he plans to get a job in sales or event planning. Coach Lesko has been with us since the beginning and is a major part of our coaching staff. He always brings a smile to the team and seems to relate very well to the u10 team.

Jonas Clingerman
(High School)
Defense
Coach Jonas has been coaching lacrosse for three years now. He is currently a senior defender for FSU’s men’s lacrosse team and was recently named MCLA All-Name Team. He is originally from Pennsylvania but is considered a local to Tallahassee, where attended Leon High School. Currently he is majoring in exercise physiology at FSU.

Mitchel Ramsey

Goalies/Midfield
As a Tallahassee local, Mitchell graduated from Chiles High School in 2016 with three years of experience as a goalie and an LSM. Shortly after, he was hired to be the JV head coach for Chiles. After posting a 24-3 record, including a 9-0 season, Mitchell was hired to the Maclay staff to be the Junior Varsity and Middle School head coach. He graduated from Tallahassee Community College with an A.A. in Psychology in 2018 and is currently enrolled at Florida State, majoring in Psychology. Coach Mitchell is dedicated to growing the game and making Tallahassee and the Panhandle a hotspot for lacrosse.

Dylan Barnes

Midfield
Coach Barnes is from Orlando Florida and has an extensive lacrosse background. He is primarily an offensive midfielder, but can play both ways. During High School, he played at Lake Brantley high school where he was a 4 year varsity team member and 3 year varsity starter. At Lake Brantley he was 1st team all-conference in his Junior and Senior season, Rookie of the Year, Offensive MVP, and Team MVP. After high school, he went on to play at FSU, where he is currently a Junior. During his time so far at FSU he has earned the nickname “freshman phenomenon” and worked his way from fourth string as a Freshman to starting in his Sophomore year. He has big plans for the upcoming season and is excited to be on the 850 staff.

Nick Yanora

Defense
Coach Nick played lacrosse at Florida State University where he led the team in crease dive attempts at practice. He is also currently working at The Maclay School with the Middle School Football and Varsity Lacrosse teams. His lacrosse highlight film is mostly made up of end line dives, where he truly is second to none.

Evan Oakley
(u14)
LSM/Defense
Coach Oakley is another local and a Maclay graduate from Tallahassee, Florida. While at Maclay he received Academic All-American honors, and 1st-Team All Big Bend. After Maclay, Coach Oakley spent a year at Lenoir-Rhyne before eventually ending up at Florida State and playing for their club team. While at FSU he has also helped with coaching local youth lacrosse and has had a huge impact on the area and the growth in Tallahassee. 850 is lucky to have him.

Charlie King
(lessons)
LSM/Defense
Graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia, where he was a six-time letterwinne. There he earned four letters in lacrosse and two in football. Received USLacrosse All-America honors in both 2016 and 2017 and was a three-time First Team All-Georgia honoree from 2015-17. Was an Under Armour Underclass All-American in 2016 and helped Lassiter win the 2017 Georgia state title and finish as runners-up in 2016 after winning the region title. He also earned Scholar-Athlete recognition all four years of high school. While in GA, he played club lacrosse for Thunder Lacrosse. After high school he went on to play D1 lacrosse at Loyola University in MD.
